Welcome to our overview of IDEA, an online higher education alliance. This section of the website is for faculty and administrators at higher education institutions seeking to better understand what IDEA is, how we operate, and if your program or university can benefit from partnering with this consortium.

If you’re interested in becoming a student, taking classes, or earning a degree, we have a different area of the website that explains how IDEA works from a student's point of view.

About IDEA

The Innovative Digital Education Alliance (IDEA) is a consortium of 20 renowned public universities from across the United States, offering online degrees and certificate programs in human sciences and agriculture.

Through IDEA (formerly known as Great Plains IDEA and AG IDEA), students have the unique opportunity to take classes from multiple universities and receive engaging online instruction in high-demand professional fields from faculty across the country. Our faculty collaborate closely and have developed a student-centric online academic environment that maximizes learning and preparation for career advancement.
