Biography

Ali Luempert is a community instructor in human development and family sciences at Texas Tech University. She serves as an instructor for courses in the IDEA youth development graduate program and as an advisor for students through TTU.

Hailing from Lorain, Ohio (near Cleveland), Luempert earned a bachelor of arts degree from The Ohio State University in recreation management. She worked in collegiate recreation at various facilities after graduation and through these experiences, she had the opportunity to mentor students and found these student interactions to be very rewarding.

While working in academic advising and career counseling, Luempert went on to earn a Master of Education degree in higher education administration from TTU, with a graduate certificate in college student counseling. All of these experiences made her even more fascinated by those transitioning through young/emerging adulthood, and have brought her to complete her doctoral degree. Her doctorate is in human development and family sciences with a focus on examining varied developmental contexts for young adults as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.
