Ormsbee, Christine
Biography
Christine Ormsbee is the associate provost at OSU with primary responsibilities focused on centralized leadership of online education, outreach, and the Office of Individual Study. In addition, Ormsbee serves as Director of the Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence, which provides an array of teaching-related services to the Stillwater and Tulsa campuses.
A professor in special education, Ormsbee’s research focused on efficacy of school-based identification procedures and interventions for students with mild-moderate disabilities. She held the A.J. and Susan Jacques Endowed Chair in Special Education from 2009– 2021. Her recent research has centered on students’ perceptions of effective teaching in higher education.
Ormsbee is active in the Stillwater community, serving on the board of the United Way of Payne County and as chair of the annual fundraising campaign. Ormsbee also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate supporting children and youth who have experienced neglect and/or abuse.
