Courtney Meyers

Courtney Meyers started at Texas Tech University in 2008 as an assistant professor in agricultural communications. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in web design, public relations writing, and online media strategy. In January 2017, she became the graduate studies coordinator for the department and currently manages all potential students, application and admission responsibilities, and degree completion requirements. 

Recognized as a Texas Tech Integrated Scholar, Meyers is a member of Texas Tech's Teaching Academy and has received a number of teaching awards at the college, university, and national levels including the Texas Tech President's Excellence in Teaching Award (2014), Texas Tech's Chancellor's Council Distinguished Teaching Award (2018), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's New Teacher Award (2015).

She has co-authored award-winning research papers and posters including the Journal of Applied Communications Outstanding Research Article, the Association for Communication Excellence Outstanding Paper, the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists Agricultural Communications Outstanding Paper, and the American Association for Agricultural Education Distinguished Manuscript. Meyers is currently serving a three-year term as the past participant representative on the LEAD21 board of directors and a two-year term as the American Association for Agricultural Education vice president for communications.

Meyers is a native of Kansas and earned her Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications and journalism from Kansas State University. Her Master of Science is from the University of Arkansas, and she received her doctorate in agricultural education and communications from the University of Florida. Meyers and her husband, Daniel, are the proud parents of Isabel and Amelia.
