Biography
Dane R. Mataic is an assistant professor of Sociology at North Dakota State University. His teaching and research interests include organizations, religious activism and conflict, and social inequalities.
His research employs organizational and collective action frameworks to investigate the interaction between organizations, individuals, and cultural communities. Specifically, he uses survey data from religious congregations to build upon the connection between membership in voluntary organizations and levels of activism through an exploration of leader agency, member receptiveness, and organizational structure. Mataic is also interested in the relationship between national governments and religious organizations, particularly as it relates to the spread of governmental restrictions and responses to these restrictions.
