Biography

Nellie Hill-Sullins is an assistant professor of agricultural and natural resources communications at Kansas State University. Originally from Pilsen, Kansas, Hill received her bachelor’s degree from the Kansas State Agricultural Communications and Journalism program she now teaches within. She earned her master’s degree at Texas Tech University, then gained professional experience in communications and marketing while working for entities including state government, higher education, a private hunting club, and financial services. Hill returned to Texas Tech and earned her doctoral degree.

Before joining the faculty at Kansas State, she helped to establish the agricultural communications program at New Mexico State University as an assistant professor. At Kansas State, her teaching ranges from graphic design and photography at the undergraduate level, to writing for science and social data analysis at the graduate level.

Her research explores the social dimensions of natural resource management, science communication, agribusiness communications, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
