Biography

Robin Peiter Horstmeier teaches human development and family science graduate courses in youth program development as an associate teaching professor for the University of Missouri. Horstmeier thrives empowering students to think critically and creatively to address youth development program issues they face throughout their career. 

She also practices positive youth development practices as founder and owner of Horstmeier Consulting LLC. Her consulting business specializes in education and leadership programs where she partners with the Missouri FFA Association, agricultural companies, and conducts research.

Through her partnership with the Missouri FFA Association, Horstmeier facilitates youth agricultural advocacy programs and mentors high school students and teachers with various leadership programs. She has assisted agricultural companies to advance their work focused on youth development, education, and leadership.

Research investigating youth development is a passion, and Horstmeier examines leadership development in the context of youth, education, and community.  She has served as a member of the board of directors for the Association of Leadership Educators.
