Biography

As a nutrition and health sciences professor and registered dietitian nutritionist, Sarah Hortman aspires to promote health and preclude disease through community collaboration and instruction of undergraduate and graduate courses in community nutrition, nutritional and health sciences, wellness, health promotion program planning, and implementation, plus provide guidance through experiential learning opportunities.

Hortman's interests include mentoring students to help them navigate their education, training experiences, and career goals in nutrition and health. Instructing and guiding students through experience, education, and theory creates an evidence-based foundation that will allow future health professionals to foster systems change and enable realistic nutrition and health interventions, assisting individuals and communities to achieve a healthy balanced lifestyle.
